Explore Co Tu ethnic minority culture in Alang Nhu homestay

About 35km from the centre of Da Nang, the Alang Nhu homestay, nestled in Gian Bi Village, Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District, is a stunning place to stay and immerse yourselves in the beauty of the nature, and explore the culture of the Co Tu ethnic minority group.

Alang Nhu, which opened its doors in October 2019, has lured both domestic and foreign guests with its unique design creating the harmony between nature and culture of Co Tu people.

The around 500m2 homestay is named after its owner who is Mr Dinh Van Nhu.

The 2-storey homestay is designed to help you explore the culture of the Co Tu ethnic people, to provide a resting place for visitors in the ground floor and offer rooms for nearly 20 guests in the first floor.

Alang Nhu features environmentally-friendly interior and exterior decoration with locally available materials, including bamboo, wood, stones and some daily items of the Co Tu group.

Guests at Alang Nhu can discover guided tours or immerse themselves in local culture.

Guided tours will allow you to explore the history and culture of the Co Tu minority group in their village. Besides, you will get a chance to learn about the history and characteristics of brocade as well as weaving techniques by the Co Tu people Gian Bi Village.

In the afternoon, you can try the specialties of the Co Tu people such as ‘com lam’ (rice cooked in bamboo tubes), ‘banh sung trau’ (buffalo horn-shaped cakes), and ‘ech xong khoi’ (smoked frogs).

You will have an opportunity to participate in trekking to explore the pristine beauty of the Vung Bot and Khe Duong springs. In the evening, you will enjoy folk singing and dancing performances by the Co Tu people.

Mr Dinh Van Nhu said eco-pools and several palm leaf huts will be built, whilst fruit trees will be planted at his homestay in the coming time, to make it more beautiful and appealing to domestic and foreign visitors.
