Visitor numbers to the city soar

Visitor numbers have soared in Da Nang after the city’s tourism stimulus programme themed ‘Da Nang Thank You 2020' kicked off on 23 May.

The statistics released by the municipal Department of Tourism show visitor numbers to tourist sites across the city, including Marble Mountains Tourist Area, has hit close to 88,500 to date.

The Marble Mountains Tourist Area, which was recognised as a special national-level relic site in 2019, is the most visited attraction in Da Nang, have attracted a significant number of visitors and it gets very busy on weekends. It is among the city’s tourist sites which are offering free admission to all visitors from 1 June until 31 August.

The majority of arrivals to this site are domestic visitors from northern and southern localities.

Tour guide Hoang Quoc Huy said domestic visitors tend to take day tours in Da Nang to go shopping at the Han Market, visit museums, explore the Son Tra Peninsula, and discover the beauty of the Marble Mountains and Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City.

Till date, 550 out of 994 serviced accommodation establishments citywide have reopened to welcome their guests.

In June, the room occupancy rates at 4 to 5-star hotels are expected to reach 30% on weekdays, and more than 80% at weekends.
