The Da Nang International Marathon (DNIM) has been cancelled amid a fresh bout of Covid-19 outbreak in Da Nang.

The Virtual Race - Run For Da Nang will be organised for those who have already registered to compete at DNIM 2020.
The Virtual Race - Run For Da Nang will be organised for those who have already registered to compete at DNIM 2020.

The race was due to take place on 9 August 2020 and it was expected to draw over 7,000 professional and amateur runners from all over Viet Nam.

The Manulife Da Nang International Marathon 2020 will be changed to be a virtual race entitled Run For Da Nang in order to keep the spirit of sports and to ensure the safety of all attendees. The race organisers will announce the time to hold the virtual event soon.

Covid-19 means the race organisers couldn’t put on the same event as last year, so now they will hold a virtual challenge where people can sign up and do it from their homes and maintain social distancing.

Participants will sign up for 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km and 1.5km virtual run or walk.

A virtual event is where athletes and runners compete virtually, usually aiming to run for a specified distance or a specified timeframe over the course of the designated race window.

To register to take part in this virtual challenge, you are required to create an account on any running apps.
