2020 UpRace for Community runs until 11 Oct
The VNG JSC-launched UpRace 2020, a free community running event for everyone on the web/mobile UpRace, is running from 18 September to 11 October nationwide.

Runners are allowed to run at whenever and wherever, and they must record their achievements on their mobile devices featuring global positioning system (GPS), such as smartphones and smart watches.
With each km you run, the UpRace sponsors will donate at least 1,000 VND to one of the four social organisations, namely the Newborns Vietnam, GreenViet, Vietseeds, and Operation Smile.
These organisations will receive fund-raising money from runners and sponsors, converted from the recorded running distance.
Also, individuals and enterprises can donate to the four organisations via ZaloPay.
In response to the charity sporting event, the University of Da Nang has called on all students, lecturers and staff from its members schools to participate in the event.
Accordingly, runners can run individually or in groups. All runners who are eligible to complete the contest will receive completion certificates.
Besides, rewards of 5 million VND in cash each will be given to a school with the highest number of participating students and another one with the longest run.
Each athlete of UDN’s member schools who finishes the longest run will be presented a pair of shoes or a smart watch, worth one million VND each, a free course on English communication at the city-based Aten English Centre, and other in-kind gifts.
Student Nguyen Viet Hung from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Da Nang University of Science and Technology expressed his great excitement about the meaningful sports event.
Trinh Nguyen Yen Nhi, Miss University Da Nang 2017, said that she has just registered for the UpRace 2020 in a bid to improve her physical health as well as raise fundings for environmental protection activities.
Launched for the first time in 2018, UpRace has drawn much attention from young people, including tech startuppers, and university and junior college students, nationwide.
Last year, this sports event attracted 32,000 runners and raised 6 billion VND (US$258,566) for Newborns Vietnam, GreenViet and Vietseeds.
