Design contest for Youth Park's renewal to be launched
Following recent approval by the Da Nang People's Committee, a contest is expected to be launched in order to seek the best architectural ideas for the upgrade of the existing Youth Park.
The contest will be open to domestic and foreign individuals and organisations that are architectural design consultants or construction planners.
Addressing the Thursday meeting, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh highlighted the significance of the upcoming contest in giving an attractive facelift to the park, hereby creating a new architectural landmark and an attractive public space in the city.
The park now encompasses Hai Chau District’s Hoa Cuong Nam Ward and Cam Le District’s Khue Trung Ward.
Under the upgrade plans, this venue will cover an area of up to 15,776m2, consisting of the current memorial monument, the green-covered and memory areas, a square, parking lots, and auxiliary facilities.
Also, new other facilities will be constructed in the park. Included are an area for the organisation of startup activities, a picnic spot, an outdoor performance stage, mini soccer and tennis courts, swimming pools, and an entertainment technology centre, all of which aim to satisfy the diversified needs and aspirations of locals and visitors, especially teenagers.
For the time being, the current park faces a shortage of many public entertainment services and facilities, and has a low density of trees.
