Construction formally begins on Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian promenade
Construction was officially commenced on on Tuesday morning on the Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian promenade project.

The move aims to welcome in the ongoing 22nd Da Nang Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.
The more than 13 billion VND project covers an area of 197,017 m2 and it runs through wards of Hai Chau 1, Phuoc Ninh, Binh Hien, Binh Thuan, Hoa Thuan Dong and Hoa Cuong Bac in downtown Hai Chau District, My An Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District and An Hai Tay Ward in Son Tra District.
Planned to be open April 2021, the new development will comprise 3 separate sub-divisions.

The first one will be created along a section of riverside Bach Dang Street from the Han River Bridge to the Rong (Dragon) Bridge. It will be designed with a sculpture park in front of the downtown tourist-packed Han Market.
In addition, there will be an outdoor stage equipped with viewing stands, and a well-designed square to the north the Dragon Bridge featuring a large chess-playing area, a water-fountain, and eye-catching decorative lights, whilst a similar one erected to the south of this bridge showing off arch-shaped frame structures.

The second one will cover a part of Bach Dang Street from the Dragon Bridge to the pedestrian Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. One of the most prominent architectural highlights will be the debut of a semicircular - shaped wooden bridge with a pedestal reaching out to the river surface.
As highly inviting as the two aforementioned sub-divisions, the third consisting of the upgraded Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the development of public parks at its western and eastern ends, will make itself notable in its own way.

In detail, the western end of the pedestrian bridge will be designed with a history- themed park showing off outdoor areas for photo exhibitions on the city’s progress over different historical periods, a memory stage exclusively for events and festivals, and anchorages for use by tourist boats.

Meanwhile, such features as a similar park, a wooden promenade facing towards the river, a ‘floating garden’, and an entertainment and reading areas will make their appearance at the eastern end of the bridge.
The embellishment of the pedestrian bridge will be embarked in order to serve outdoor cultural events and exhibitions.
