Data on traditional festivals to go digital
The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has given the green light to the implementation of a project on digitalising all types of Vietnamese festivals for the 2021-2025 period. They involve traditional and cultural ones, industry festivals, and those of foreign origin.
The project aims to help boost the transformation of data storage from a traditional method into an electronic one for the sake of the better State management of traditional festival activities, serving the needs of searching from users and promoting the cultural value of the festivals.
The project is divided into two phases.
The first phase, which will last until the end of 2022, concentrates on conducting surveys and statistics of festivals in Viet Nam, enhancing information technology equipment, building the database management software and portal about Vietnamese festivals,.
The digitalisation and building of database for cultural festivals and other types of festivals, including those originating from foreign countries, as well as an accomplishment of the portal will be carried out in the second phase, which is slated to run from 2023 – 2025. Human training for the operation and maintenance of the portal will be implemented in this phase, too.
