9th Da Nang Sports Festival slated from Feb. to Sep. 2022
The 9th Da Nang Sports Festival is set to take place from February to September 2022.
The opening ceremony of the municipal-level sports event is scheduled to be held at either the Tien Son Sports Arena or the Hoa Xuan Stadium on May 19 2022 to mark the 132nd birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19 1890 - May 19 2022).
Before that time, district-level sports events will have been organised from early January 2022 to May 30 2022.
According to the event’s organisation plan, participants will compete in a total of 21 categories of ethnic and modern sports in individual, team and group events.
To ensure the successful organisation of the event and the safety for competitors amid complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandenmic, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports urges district-level culture and information offices, and culture and sports centres, to develop specific plans for the organisation of such sports events based on the actual situation in their localities in the spirit of economization and efficiency in tandem with strictly complying with COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
