Tickets for Viet Nam's home games in the final round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers at the Ha Noi-based My Dinh Stadium have been officially sold through the VinID app from 10.00 am today, October 27.

According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), each game can only welcome a maximum of 12,000 fans or 30% of the stadium’s 40,000 seating capacity.

Amongst 12,000 recently-issued tickets, VFF has to give 2,000 tickets to its partners and sponsors, and 30% of the remaining 10,000 tickets to partners who are in need of buying more. Therefore, in fact, only 7,000 tickets/match are being sold to the audience.

The Viet Nam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has urged the Ha Noi authorities and other relevant agencies to ensure pandemic prevention and control measures at the My Dinh Stadium which will welcome fans back next month.

Additionally, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), have been asked to develop detailed plans from buying tickets to entering and leaving the football pitch in a tandem with ensuring security and order and minimising the spread of coronavirus.

To prepare for the games, the My Dinh Stadium has been renovated to meet the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation.

In addition, spectators must have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine for at least 14 days or have recovered from COVID-19 no more than six months prior, have a negative test result issued no more than 72 hours before the game, and strictly comply with 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health at the stadium.

This is Viet Nam’s first time in the final round of World Cup qualifiers. They have lost their first four matches against Saudi Arabia, Australia, China and Oman.

The national football team will face Japan on Nov. 11 and Saudi Arabia on Nov.16.
