Most recently, many live arts programmes have been recently cancelled due to the impact of the pandemic.

For example, the Da Nang Cinema and Culture Center plans to organize a number of arts activities such as the Han River Dance programme, street music programme, and ‘Pride of the city - 25 seasons of flowers’ arts programme. However, to date, these activities are expected not to be held as planned.

Dancer Nguyen Cuong from the Da Nang Cinema and Culture Centre, revealed that, due to the inability to organize cultural activities with large crowds of people, his unit is preparing a livestream ‘bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) programme with the theme ‘Love Flavour of Da Nang’.

The programme aims to highly praise the city's changes and remarkable achievements over the past 25 years. It is expected to be live streamed on the evening of December 31 on Youtube channel and Facebook page of the center.

"Currently, the centre is developing a draft plan to organize a contest for young arts talents entitled ‘Spring and Youth’ and a number of other cultural activities in a bid to welcome in the Lunar New Year 2022. Hopefully, the aforementioned programmes will be organised with large crowds in a bid to create an exciting and joyful atmosphere for people to celebrate Tet" added artiste Nguyen Cuong.

Similarly, some theaters in the city have been preparing for livestream programmes in a bid to serve the public at the end of the year.

Currently, seasoned artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater are actively joining rehearsals of Tuong performances to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Da Nang's recognition as centrally-governed city and welcome in New Year 2022.

As planned, these performances will go live on the theatre’s Youtube channel and Facebook page on the evenings of December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

Director of the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater Tran Ngoc Tuan said that the 70-minute-long programme to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Da Nang's recognition as centrally-governed city is being meticulously and methodically prepared by the theatre’s artistes. The theatre’s artistes will bring to the stage the best performances that they have done in recent years, including ‘Da Nang Trong Ta’ (Da Nang in Our Heart), ‘Binh Minh Song Han’ (The Han River at Dawn), ‘Vuot Song’ (Overcoming Waves), and ‘Tan Tung Da Da’.

Meanwhile, the programme to welcome in New Year 2022 promises to bring the audience fresh atmosphere with unique Tuong extracts and exciting ground puppetry performances.

The Trung Vuong Theatre has already completed the script and stage for the ‘Da Nang - Aspiration to Rise’ arts programme which is scheduled to be live streamed on the evening of December 31 on the theatre’s social network platforms.

The 90-minute-long programme will feature a total of 10 songs about the city in 3 parts namely: ‘Da Nang - Deep Love’, ‘Pride in Da Nang’ and ‘Da Nang - Aspiration to Rise’.

The programme is like a short film recreating the history of Da Nang's major development over the past 25 years, thereby providing the opportunity for the audience to look back on the city's long history of development and feel the comprehensive development of the land known as a livable city.

“In the coming time, if the COVID-19 pandemic situation is well controlled, the Trung Vuong Theater will continue to promote the application of digital technology to conduct more livestream programmes to satisfy the public demand for cultural and artistic performances” informed Director of the theatre Tran Quang Hao.
