Ready for large arts playgrounds
Since early this year, most of arts associations citywide have set targets of creating quality arts works, organising exciting arts programmes and exhibitions, and competing in large arts playgrounds.
For instance, the Da Nang Association of Theater Artists plans to prepare two short plays and one traditional play entitled ‘The Motherland Rises’ with a duration of about 120 minutes to serve the public and participate in the National Theater Festival 2022.
Meanwhile, the city’s Artistic Photography Association has encouraged photographers to participate in photo contests at both home and abroad.
The municipal Fine Arts Association has called for its members to actively compose and participate in the upcoming 27th South Central Coast and Central Highlands Fine Arts Exhibition in Da Nang.
Notably, many writers and artists in the city have made preparations for forthcoming big arts contests.
Photographer Huynh Van Truyen, Chairman of the Da Nang Photography Club, said in 2022 alone, there will be no less than 10 different photography contests, especially the biennial national art photography contest. Diverse festive and cultural activities during Tet are always endless sources of inspiration for photographers. Therefore, in first days of Tet, many photographers in Da Nang were seen working very hard.
According to photographer Huynh Van Truyen, wherever he goes, whatever he does, he carries a camera with him so that if he catches a good moment, shoot it right away when he has the opportunity, bring his work to participate in competitions.
“This year, I plan to take photos of the city's traditional craft villages to introduce the local folklore values to friends at home and abroad. Also, I will participate in more international competitions to enrich my collection of prizes" said Truyen.
Similarly, the municipal Fine Arts Association plans to open two creation camps in 2022, particularly an on-site creation camp for participants in the 27th South Central Coast and Central Highlands Fine Arts Exhibition to be held in Da Nang, and one in Son Tra District to serve documentary photos for the district's gallery.
Making artworks with full of passion and enthusiasm
Despite being busy with his main job at Da Nang International Airport, musician Thai Phu still spends a lot of time on composing music.
Since early this year, he has set goals for his composition with a focus on the city’s post-pandemic economic recovery and growth, folk values and historical relic sites.
Thanks to early personal goal setting, up to now, musician Thai Phu has finished the composition of ‘Sparkling legends’ about promoting the value of Cham Phong Le relic relic in Cam Le District, and another one about the Ba Da Pagoda in Ngu Hanh Son District.
Musician Thai Phu noted his compositions integrated folk songs into modern music, so that folklore identity spread most naturally into life, catching up with modern trends.
"It's relatively difficult to live well with arts in general, but with our great passion and enthusiasm, I and other musicians work hard every day to bring the best qualify works to the public and raise the city's music to new heights", said he.
Similarly, painter Ho Dinh Nam Kha said that this year he is also trying to complete a collection of 40 paintings, 20 of which have been already completed, in preparation for his solo painting exhibition that is scheduled to take place in November. He has spent nearly two years on this self-financed project.
“The exhibition will feature silk and paper paintings closely following the content of the poem collection ‘The Tale of Ngu Hanh Son’’ written by poet and translator Bui Xuan” revealed the painter.
According to Meritorious Artist Phan Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Dance Artists Association, an arts programme is slated to take place in the first quarter of this year to mark 25 years of Da Nang's recognition as centrally-governed city, and the 20th birthday of the association.
Personally, Meritorious Artist Phan Hong Ha in collaboration with People's Artist Le Huan and VTV8 are preparing for a 45-minute-long dance drama performance entitled ‘Halo of Viet Nam’ which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year.
“Despite a limited budget, the association members are still striving to create new dance styles and put them into practice in schools citywide. If implemented, this will become one of the distinctive marks of Da Nang compared to other provinces and cities across the country" said Meritorious Artist Phan Hong Ha.
