1,500 runners participate in Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2022

The Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2022, and the Cross-country Running Competition as part of the 9th Da Nang Sports and Physical Training Congress, took place at the Tien Son Sports Arena on Sunday morning.

Organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2022 aimed to mark the 76th anniversary of the Viet Nam Sports Day (March 27), and the 47th anniversary of the city’s liberation (March 29).

This year’s event attracted a total of over 1,500 runners, including military officers and men, university students, along with members from the municipal War Veterans' Association, and those from the city’s unions of Youth, Labour and Women.

Participating runners joined in the 1km run: Tien Son Sports Arena- Phan Dang Luu - Nai Nam 2 - Doan Khue - Nai Nam 3 - Tien Son Sports Arena.

The event was followed by the Cross-country Running Competition 2022 with the participation of 72 runners from 7 local districts. Under the event’s rules, female and male runners competed in female’ singles 4km run and male’s singes 7km run respectively, and men’s team and female’s team categories.

Participating runners were seen strictly following the 5K recommendations of the Vietnamese Health Ministry.
