25 prize-winning artworks themed COVID-19 fight honoured

Held by the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports on Saturday, a gala summarizing the campaign to compose songs and theatrical scripts on COVID-19 prevention and control with the theme ‘Strong faith in victory’ featured outstanding performances.

Taking place from mid-September to the end of November 2021, the campaign’s organisers received 281 entries, consisting of 242 songs and 39 theatrical scripts created by 172 individuals and collectives from more than 35 provinces and cities nationwide.

After the selection process, the organizers handed out 15 prizes for the song genre and 10 others for the stage script category.

In addition, other prizes for two special - quality works honouring Da Nang.

The gala featured the performances of two theatrical scripts and five songs that won high prizes at the campaign.

The works conveyed positive messages of stirring up a strong determination to fight against COVID-19 amongst the general public and sending deep gratitude to the frontline forces.

In particular, the campaign showed a great effort of the cultural industry amidst the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to create conditions for artists to perform a pioneering role on the cultural - ideological front, spread meaningful message and give more spiritual strength to the frontline forces and the community to unanimously overcome difficulties.

The organisers also compiled and released the publication entitled ‘A collection of winning works in the campaign to compose songs and theatrical scripts on the combat against COVID-19’ with 27 artworks, thereby contributing to support agencies, units and localities to develop and effectively spread messages of pandemic prevention and control.
