Cultural park in Go Ha relic site officially inaugurated

A cultural park at the Go Ha relic site in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, was officially inaugurated on Monday morning to mark the 47th anniversary of the city’s liberation (March 29, 1975 - 2022).

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee cum Chairman of the People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee cum Chairman of the People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Council Le Minh Trung, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen, and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Quang Nam, made their attendance at the event.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen highlighted the meaningfulness of the newly-inaugurated work in showing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of the city to fallen war combatants for their sacrifice to the nation's revolutionary cause.

She also expressed her desire that the venue would become a historical and cultural place for students and young people across the city to learn about historical traditions of the city, and to promote the images of the land and people of Hoa Vang District. Also, it will be a place for local residents to organise community cultural activities, thereby contributing to tightening sense of community, and solidarity.

"The city leaders suggested that the Hoa Vang District authorities continue well preserving and promoting time-honoured cultural and historical values of the Go Ha historical relic in the time to come" noted Vice Chairwoman Yen.

Secretary of the Hoa Vang District Party Committee Pham Nam Son said that the Go Ha Victory in October 1965 was the first great victory in the fights against the American invaders.

According to the wishes of ex-veterans and local people, the Hoa Vang District authorities have proactively proposed the city to recognise the Go Ha victory relic site as a municipal-level relic site and build a worthy work to mark the victory in the past and educate revolutionary traditions for future generations.

Work started at a cultural park in the Go Ha relic site on May 19, 2021, and it was completed on January 31, 2022.

The more than VND12 billion park was built on an area of ​​12,000m2 at the location where the Go Ha battle took place in 1965. The work features such items as a memorial stele of Go Ha Victory with a circular stele area with a diameter of 15.5m and a height of 10.35m, a ceremonial yard, an exhibition house, a lake, and other ancillary items.

The construction work has shown off the enthusiasm, affection and responsibility of the  leaders of the city and Hoa Vang District, along with the aspirations of martyrs' relatives and people in the locality.
