On display at the exhibition are more than 60 sculptures and paintings about animals made by four Vietnamese artists, namely Le Thiet Cuong, Le Minh Tri, Le Ngoc Thuan, and Vu Huu Nhung, along with 6 invited guests of Nguyen Nhu Duc, Pham Tran Quan, Hoang Phuong Lien, Nguyen Hong Phuong, Phuong Binh and Nguyen Thanh Hai.

In the history of traditional Vietnamese arts, animals have long been a source of inspiration for local artists, such as images of 'Chim Lac' - Viet Nam's Imaginary National Bird, and frogs, drawn on the Dong Son bronze drum or different varieties of animals printed on Ly Dau and Chu Dau ceramics. In the modern Vietnamese painting sector, many artists, including Nguyen Tu Nghiem and Nguyen Sang, have been pursuing the topic of animals.

During the ongoing exhibition, artist Le Ngoc Thuan introduces his wooden sculptures of elephants, dragons, buffaloes, roosters and more. Each artwork has a different form but all share the same concept of using the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu ethnic minority people.

Meanwhile, artist Vu Huu Nhung chooses horses as the main theme of his pieces of artworks, showcasing his talent in creating works with Phu Lang terracotta.

Artist Le Minh Tri introduces his artworks of colourful painted wooden animals such as buffaloes, cows, pigs and chickens, and artist Le Thiet Cuong participates in the exhibition with more than 10 works with minimalism style made on copper and iron materials.

The exhibition will last until August 10, and then it will be held in Thua Thien Hue in the middle of August, 2022. Previously, the same exhibition took place in Ha Noi and Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City, attracting a large number of visitors.
