Lion dance teams prepare for Mid-Autumn Festival
In recent days, lion dance teams in Da Nang have been busy preparing for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival which will fall on September 10 this year. In their efforts to provide the most eye-catching performances for audience, these teams have been focusing on investing in props, costumes and practices.

Aside from performing at the request of local residents, the lion dance teams will provide free shows for disadvantaged children.
The Tu Cau lion dance team is a typical example. In previous years, the team actively got involved in giving lion dance performances and donating charity gifts to needy children in Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province, and in Ba Dong Commune, Ba To District, Quang Ngai Province.
Present at the practice show of the Tu Cau lion dance team, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc and her daughter, residing in Cam Le District, showed great interest in the team’s performances. "I saw the team performing impressively, showing stunning kungfu and acrobatic skills" added she.
Nguyen Duc Hiep, the captain of the Tu Cau lion dance team, said he and his teammates are making efforts to practise in order to provide everyone with spectacular performances. He informed, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, his team will connect with the Tuy Duyen charity team to perform for child patients.
Apart from Tu Cau, other lion dance teams such as Vuong Anh Duong and Bach Ho are also rushing to practice to prepare for this year's Mid-Autumn Festival.

According to people who have experience in lion dances, the drum team is the soul of the lion dance performance. Therefore, drum performers must practice skillful and proficient techniques. |
