Next year’s event will attract students from the 11 Southeast Asian nations, aiming to promote the sports movement among regional students.

Vietnamese students will compete in six sports, specifically considered and decided by the Ministry of Education and Training in order to ensure appropriate age and practical conditions of school sports.

The Ministry of Education and Training and the Da Nang authorities will coordinate with relevant agencies to determine specific training and competition locations to ensure the convenience and efficiency of the event.

The Minister of Education and Training is the head of the Steering Committee, responsible for assigning tasks to members, and deciding on the establishment of the Organizing Committee and its specialized sub-committees.

Held for the first time in 2009, the annual festival offers a good chance for Southeast Asian students to learn from experience from each other, enhance the quality of physical education and improve sports spirit.

Ha Noi is the first Vietnamese locality chosen to host the Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival in June 2013.
