People crowd pagodas on Tet Nguyen Tieu to pray for peace

On the 15th day of the first lunar month or Tet Nguyen tieu (First Full Moon Festival), a large number of locals and foreign tourists flocked to temples and pagodas across Da Nang to offer incense and pray for peace for the whole year.

Tet Nguyen Tieu is among major festivals of Viet Nam. In the country, the festival is believed to originate from the wet rice civilisation and Buddhism culture.
