The purpose of the project is to create more facilities and new experience spaces to serve residents and tourists when they visit the Son Tra Peninsula.
It is expected that a ceremony to launch the project and appeal for book donations will be held in March 2023. The project will be officially put into operation in April 2023.
In the first stage of the project, ‘Green Reading Stations’ will be deployed at rest stops at the Vong Canh Hill, the Ban Co Peak (Chess Board Peak) and the thousand-year-old banyan tree; along with private business and service points: the Dong Dinh Museum, and the Son Tra Marina.
In the second stage of the project, the model of ‘Green Reading Stations’ will be deployed in a number of schools in the city.
Each reading station will feature bookcases, chairs, and photos of brown-shanked douc langurs. There will be diverse books, and propaganda publications on biodiversity of Son Tra Peninsula, aiming to raise public awareness on nature conservation and environmental protection. Books and publications placed at the reading stations will have moisture-proof bags to avoid damage.
