Variety of activities held in Da Nang to mark Francophone Day 2023
A variety of activities are being held in Da Nang this weekend in order to celebrate International Francophone Day 2023.
Pupils in Da Nang join the Francophone football tournament |
Included are a Francophone football tournament, a Francophone singing festival, an online contest to learn about the diplomatic and cooperation relations between Viet Nam and France, a drawing contest, and a 'Ring the Golden Bell' contest.
Specifically, the Francophone singing festival features 20 special performances by Vietnamese young people who love French, university students, and primary, junior and senior high school pupils. These performances praise the Viet Nam - France friendship, and the beauty of culture, landscape and people of both countries.
The winners of the singing contest will represent the city in the final round of the national Francophone singing festival which is slated to be held in June in Da Nang.
Over recent years, the Francophone Day has been maintained and held annually by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, the city chapter of the Viet Nam-France Friendship Association, the University of Foreign Language Studies - the University of Da Nang, the French Institute in Da Nang, and other related units.
The event provides a useful playground for students in the city, and a good opportunity for French expats living and working in Da Nang to exchange, learn about, and connect culture. This contributes to promoting the learning of French in the city, and at the same time, deepening the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Viet Nam and France.
Additionally, French bilingual classes in the city have been organised well, contributing to the training of human resources for the city and the country, hereby boosting the city's international integration.
