Da Nang unveils exciting lineup of events on occasion of April 30 and May 1
It is forecast that the number of visitors to Da Nang during the forthcoming public holiday of April 30 and May 1 will rise significantly. To prepare for the big holiday this year, tourist attractions in the city plan to organise many fun and entertainment activities in order to satisfy the needs of tourists.

One of the most highly anticipated events will be the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season programme 2023, which is expected to take place from April 28 to May 3 at the East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula and beaches of My An, My Khe, T18 and Nguyen Tat Thanh.
Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Nguyen Duc Vu said that this year's programme has the theme ‘Blue Sea Dance’ with the desire to bring local residents and tourists a lively, bustling atmosphere at Da Nang beaches.
This year’s programme will feature a series of fascinating activities, including an art kite festival, spaces to experience local specialties and traditional crafts, a photo exhibition themed ‘Marine Environmental Protection’, a chain of activities in Son Tra Peninsula, the 'Flying over the silver sea' paragliding tournament, and a chess tournament.
Within the framework of the programme, the ‘Da Nang Colour Race 2023’ beach sports festival is scheduled to be held on April 28 and 29 at the Man Thai Beach.
The much-awaited event will consist of three separate competitions, namely running on the sand with the theme ‘Bare feet in the sea’ with races of 2km, 5km and 10km; swimming themed ‘Sea lover’ with races of 1km and 2km; stand-up paddle boarding - SUP with races of 1km and 2km.
In addition to sports activities, the beach sports event will treat both locals and tourists with other attractive entertainment activities such as SUP rowing, paragliding performances and beach parties.
It is expected that Da Nang beaches will welcome a lot of visitors, so the management board will prioritise ensuring safety of visitors by arranging 100% of rescue forces on duty.
During the upcoming public holiday, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park will organise the ‘Quang Da Folk Culture Festival’ programme from April 29 - May 2 at the Huyen Long Ho area, promising to bring visitors special impressions and experience.
Visitors to the hot spring park on the occasion will have the opportunity to participate and enjoy folk culture activities such as ‘Bai Choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) and lion dance performances, 'to he' traditional craft, a magic balloon art show, and ‘nhay sap’ (dancing with bamboo poles) with the Co Tu ethnic minority group.
Similarly, the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area has launched many new products for visitors.
According to Mr. Nguyen Lam An, Director of the Ba Na Cable Car Service Joint Stock Company, this April, the Sun World Ba Na Hills will "turn" Da Nang into an entertainment centre in Central Viet Nam with a series of international cultural and festive events.
Firstly, the first-ever Happy Songkran Festival will take place from April 10 – May 4 with unique culinary and cultural experiences.
Festival goers will be warmly welcomed with a sunny smile, and sweet and gracious greetings, as well as will have a chance to immerse themselves in the water splashing battle and enjoy the delicious Thai dishes.
Meanwhile, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area is making every effort to ensure environmental sanitation and arrange more employees in order to better serve tourists.

Notably, a wide range of activities will be held across the city to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023).
Specifically, from April 3 - 15, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts is hosting a photo exhibition themed ‘Life stories on Mekong River banks’. The event which features artistic photos by photographer Lam Duc Hien is a joint effort made by the museum in collaboration with the French Embassy in Viet Nam and the French Institute in Da Nang.
On display at the exhibition are 28 artworks, together regarded as a series of visual memoirs, personal memories mixed with collective memories of people living by the river. The river marks as borders of territories and cultural links of lands and people.
Between April 27 - May 5, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts will organise a mobile exhibition entitled ‘Battlefield sketches’ at a school in Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District.
On April 28, the Trung Vuong Theatre-hosted art programme will take place at the APEC Sculpture Garden to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day and the International Labor Day (May 1).
Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association Cao Tri Dung remarked that service providers and tourism businesses citywide have all prepared infrastructure and human resources to provide better service for guests during the peak holiday season.
According to a representative of the municipal Department of Tourism, aside from the aforementioned activities, the city’s tourism stimulus programme will promise more exciting products and more incentives for visitors when coming to Da Nang this summer.
