Thai-style Songkran Festival to be held at Sun World Ba Na Hills
The first-ever Happy Songkran Festival will take place at the Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Da Nang, from April 10 - May 4.

The Songkran festival, or water festival, which takes place in mid-April every year, is the most anticipated event of Thai people.
According to Thai people, the Songkran festival means washing away bad luck and wishing for peace and prosperity in the new year. This is also an occasion for people and tourists to bond and share love.
The Thai-style Happy Songkran Festival will take place on April 13, 14, 15 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm daily at the Du Dome square.
Visitors to the festival will immerse themselves in a jubilant, bustling water festival with the colourful street of Thai flags, as well as melodious music dances, and warm and sweet Happy Songkran greetings from the boys and girls of the Golden Temple country.
The highlight of the festival will be the exciting, fun but also dramatic water splashing battle. Visitors will have a chance to experience exciting splashes, and witness water gun battles in an atmosphere filled with joy, cheers, laughter and happiness.
Happy Songkran will be also an opportunity for each visitor to show their cultural understanding of the land of Thailand through Thai flashmob and karaoke competitions.

In addition to fun moments with water splashing, singing and dancing, visitors will enjoy delicate and delicious Thai dishes such as tomyum, Tom Sam papaya salad, and Pad Thai. These dishes are elaborately prepared by the chefs, with Thai standards from flavour to colour and layout that are enough to make you just want to stay in Ba Na during the festival days.
Mr. Nguyen Lam An, Director of the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area remarked that the Happy SongKran will open a chain of international festivals throughout this year in the Ba Na Hills.
“We hope that the festival will bring visitors a good opportunity to discover the unique culture of the land and people of Thailand. This will also be a gift that we give to Thai tourists who have come to the Ba Na Hills on the occasion” he added.
Happy Songkran is just one of many international festivals that will take place in the Ba Na Hills. There will be many festivals imbued with cultural identities of such foreign countries as such as South Korean, French and India.
On the occasion of April 30 and May 1, the Sun World Ba Na Hills will continue to treat visitors to the German-style B'estival beer and food festival.
