The Da Nang Reading Culture Day 2023 officially opened at the city’s General Science Library on Wednesday.

The event features 30 booths of book publishers, introducing new and interesting books to readers. Also, these booths offer many promotions, discounts and gifts for readers.

In particular, there are many exciting activities, including an art book display and arrangement contest for junior high school pupils, a book-based story-telling contest for primary school pupils, digital libraries, and a talk show entitled ‘Books and young people in the digital age’, and an interactive game to find titles of books.

Also at the opening ceremony of the event, the organisers launched a movement to donate books for libraries and community learning centres citywide. The ‘Readers Love Han - Nom characters (Chinese script and Vietnamese ideographical script)’ Club, and the youth reading movement in the 2023-2024 academic year, were launched.

The event runs until May 21.
