The Organising Committee of the Young Photography Festival 2023 will receive entries through the website festivalnhiepanhtre2023.com from May 1 to 31, the Da Nang Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition just announced.

The Youth Photography Festival is held every 2 years, in order to encourage the development of the young photography force, promote creative activities, and publish works that reflect contemporary life through the lens of young Vietnamese photographers.

Under the rules, participants are Vietnamese citizens aged 18 - 35 years, including Vietnamese expats living and working abroad.

All entries should bear free themes into two categories: realistic and conceptual photos.

In the genre of realism, photos are taken by realistic and traditional methods, without collages, distort reality (except for panorama photos). For conceptual photos, the author is allowed to use all technical and technological measures for creativity.

The works participating in the Young Photography Festival 2023 are single or in-set photos, or black and white photos created from August 2021 to May 2023. For the category of concept photos, the organizers do not stipulate the creation time. Each author has the right to submit up to 12 entries.

In particular, the photos must not have been displayed or won prizes at any national and international competitions organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

A total of 17 awards will be given out to the most outstanding photos, including 2 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze and 7 consolation prizes. It is expected that the organizers will select about 160 works of both genres for display to the public by the end of the third quarter of 2023.
