More than 3,000 athletes from 62 countries around the world attended the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Viet Nam 2023 which took place at Son Thuy Beach, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang, on Sunday morning.

The largest triathlon race in Viet Nam is co-hosted by Sunrise Events Viet Nam (SEV) and the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports.
Accordingly, the participants competed in 1.9km swimming, 90km cycling and 21.1km running.
The triathlon started with a 1.9km open water swim at the Son Thuy Beach in Ngu Hanh Son District. After finishing the swim competition, the athletes competed in a 2-loop 90km cycle race through major routes along beaches and resorts in the city. Then, at the end of the journey was a 21.1km run passing through some important milestones and a dramatic ending at the Son Thuy Beach.
In the end, Christoper Frederick Mascarenhas-Keyes from the UK won the first prize in the men’s professional category with a time of 4mins 15.12secs.
Alexey Vshivtse from Kazakhstan came in second place in a time of 4mins 19.35secs, whilst Michael Cassinides from Australia finished in third place in a time of 4mins 22.39secs.
In the women’s professional category, the first prize went to Krisztina Vaczi from Italy who finished the triathlon in a time of 5 mins 02.05secs. Meanwhile, Bianca Marcon from Brazil earned the second place in a time of 5 mins 03.24secs, and the third prize was awarded to Lindsay Nickel from the USA in a time of 5 mins 05.32secs.
Additional, the organisers awarded prizes to professional and amateur athletes with high achievements and announced 34 slots for attending the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Finland in August.
