The above results were evaluated by the DIFF 2023's jury based on a rigorous set of criteria, including originality, ideas and themes of fireworks performances; richness and variety of effects and intensity of colours; the scale and quality of performances, and the possibility of creative use of the firing area; the synchronisation between music and fireworks shows; and the ending and the overall impression of performances.

Also at the announcement ceremony on Sunday, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairwoman and Head of the DIFF 2023 Jury Ngo Thi Kim Yen held a draw to determine the competition order of the two teams in the grand finale on July 8. Accordingly, Team Italy will shoot first and Team France will close the 2023 DIFF season.

With high-quality performances from participating teams in DIFF 2023, the organising board has decided to double the prize value.

Specifically, the first prize winner will be awarded with the DIFF 2023 trophy and US$ 20,000 in cash, whilst the runner-up will be given a cash prize of US$ 10,000, along with a trophy and certificate.

Additionally, there will be two additional prizes: 'Innovation Award' and 'Audience's Favourite Award', each worth US$ 3,000 and a certificate. The awards will be announced and awarded immediately after the end of the performances on the grand finale.

Vice Chairwoman Yen said that the selection of the French and Italian teams to enter the finale was an extremely difficult decision for the judges because all of the eight participating teams showed their creativity and left a deep impression on the audience. They all produced maleficent fireworks displays in terms of the quality, background music and shooting technique.
