Side activities expected to contribute to the success of DIFF 2023

Apart from specular fireworks performances by participating teams for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 in June and July, side activities will take place in the city during the festival in order to make the city’s much-awaited event more enjoyable and create a great experience for local residents and tourists.

Da Nang kicked off side activities with an art photo exhibition themed "Lam River - Han River, Colourful Reunion" which was open to the public on the evening of June 2. The exhibition was co-hosted by the Hai Chau District Authority, Song Han Photography Club, and Song Lam Nghe An Press Photo Club.

Mr. Truong Thanh Dung, the Vice Chairman of the Hai Chau District People's Committee, said that apart from the photo exhibition, Hai Chau District will organize 6 additional cultural and sports events, including music show, carnival, and Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) fashion show.  It can be said that side activities during the festival aim to entertain tourists while visiting Da Nang, as well as create meaningful entertainment experiences for local people.

It is known that Da Nang will offer a combined total of 28 cultural and sports events during DIFF 2023, thereby helping locals and tourists enjoy exciting moments and experiences with great side activities.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Linh, a tourist from Thai Nguyen Province said that this is the third time she has visited Da Nang. Previously, she came to Da Nang to watch the fireworks light up the skies during DIFF 2018.

“It is five years since I last visited Da Nang. I now come back to visit Da Nang, and the atmosphere in the city is bustling with excitement for DIFF 2023. Besides watching fireworks displays, I also have a chance to discover carnival festival, enjoy local foods, and visit the night market. I am deeply impressed with professional services and welcoming people of Da Nang," Ms. Linh remarked.

In its efforts to improve visitor experience at DIFF 2023, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has made thorough preparations for this event. For tourist accommodation establishments, the Department has asked them to ensure building fire prevention by enacting fire prevention and safety measures in their establishments. Furthermore, they have been required to display their accommodation service prices at the city's digital price display system https://kekhaigia.danang.gov.vn.

Travel agencies, and service providers for road and inland waterway transport have been asked to provide the best service, as well as ensure absolute security and safety for their customers.

Authorities at local level and relevant agencies will work together to take action to stop the harassment of tourists in the city in efforts to ensure a hassle-free visit for them during their stay in the city.

Tourist attractions have been required to improve the quality of their services and diversify their products in order to meet needs of visitors.

The Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches is focusing on enhancing inspection and monitoring of solid waste collection and transportation services, as well as making sure that regular and daily cleanup operations are performed at beaches and the Son Tra Peninsula. Also, heed is paid to deploying lifeguards to beaches to help ensure the safety of swimmers during this summer. Special attention is paid to ensuring that public toilets in coastal areas and the Son Tra Peninsula are available to locals and tourists.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, DIFF 2023 is expected to brand the city as an attractive, safe and welcoming destination for travellers at home and abroad.

Since the beginning of the year, the Department has organized 8 training courses for people in the hospitality industry in an attempt to improve their professional skills and deliver the excellent service to their customers . In June and July, the Department will continue to coordinate with functional bodies to conduct inspections of tourist accommodation establishments in a bid to ensure the quality of their services.
