Two fireworks teams from Italy and France will compete in the grand finale of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 themed ‘Light up the borderless world’ on Saturday evening. So far, they have prepared very well with the highest determination to conquer the championship.

Challenge to finalists when choosing Vietnamese music

As soon as it was announced that they had been selected to perform in the final night of DIFF 2023, in early July, two fireworks teams from Italy and France returned to Da Nang. Currently, their preparatory works of the two teams have entered the final stage to be ready for this weekend’s shows.

In the final night, aside from having to use the list of fireworks selected by the organisers, the two finalists are required to use a Vietnamese song. This is to add to the appeal and to gauge the analysis and preparation of the teams.

The French team's performance themed ‘Light up with love’ is expected to last about 20 minutes and 33 seconds.

Mr. Edouard Gregoire, leader of the Arteventia fireworks team from France, revealed that the background music selected for the finale will be inspired by DIFF 2023’s main theme of ‘Light up the borderless world’.

He added that his team found it difficult to insert a Vietnamese song in their performance. Unlike the previous time, the team want the songs to be different and surprise the audience and the judges.

“The general theme of the finale is also the theme of the whole season of DIFF 2023, I find love to be the theme that gives the team inspiration and we are very confident with this theme. We target to emotions because that's something we did really well in qualifying. Hopefully these things will continue to touch the hears of the judges and audience in Da Nang in the coming competition night” Mr. Gregoire said.

In the same opinion, leader of the Italian fireworks team, Mr. Damiano Baraldo, has spent a lot of time choosing the background music. Through the theme of the finale, the Italian fireworks team wanted to emphasise that there is no distance in arts.

Therefore, the team will bring an Italian-style performance with the desire to touch the emotions of the audience. It will combine the Italian classic with the modernity of today's life. The bass sounds of classical music combined with modern music will bring novelty and uniqueness to the audience and touch their hearts.

New techniques to be key factor

Mr. Edouard Gregoire revealed that “we have less time to prepare for our final show, so we will use the finest techniques. We will be using a lot of fireworks effects in a different way from qualifying night. Hopefully, this will help us win the championship”.

Just like the French fireworks team, when they heard the news of the final, the members of the Italian team constantly researched and tested the application of new technologies, and increase the intensity of work with a frequency of 12 hours/day at the fireworks field regardless of rain or shine.

Mr. Damiano Baraldo said “The weather is hot, but our spirits are hotter than that. We will devote all our energy and time to prepare for our performance. The world changes every day, so we have learned and applied a lot of new technologies in the upcoming show. We want that the sounds, lights and techniques that we use are always the latest and the most modern, bringing freshness and touching the emotions of the viewers.”

Assessing the "rookie" from France in the DIFF 2023 season, leader Damiano Baraldo said that, despite participating in DIFF for the first time, the French team has proven their ability.

Meanwhile, Mr. Edouard Gregoire, leader of the French fireworks team acknowledged that the opponent from Italy was very talented and professional. Both teams have their own colours and styles, so it's hard to say anything. “However, we will definitely try our best to win” he affirmed.

Mrs. Nadia Wong Abdullah, Director of Global 2000 Fireworks Organisation Consulting Company said that in order to make each season of DIFF always new and unique in the eyes of visitors. Her unit raises the scale of each performance but still ensure international safety standards.
