At DIFF 2023, participating fireworks teams have to arrive in Da Nang a week before competition nights in order to prepare for their teams’ performances. They spent most of their daytime on installing fireworks, and their nighttime on resting and visiting the city.

After four competition nights in the qualifying round, two fireworks teams from Italy and France won tickets to the finale on the evening of July 8.

Mr. Edouard Gregoire, leader of the French fireworks team, shared that it was very honoured for his team to enter the final round as participating in DIFF for the first time. Thanks to this, his team had the opportunity to return to Da Nang and have more time to explore and learn about this city.

“In the previous visit, we visited the Ba Na Hills Tourist Area and Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City. So this time, after finishing the finale performance, we plan to take a visit to the Linh Ung Pagoda in the Son Tra Peninsula and have time to learn more about the cuisine and people here" Mr. Edouard Gregoire said.

Coming to Da Nang for the first time, Mrs. Lea Brun, a member of the French team, felt very surprised when she was warmly welcomed right at Da Nang International Airport. She said that local people were all very friendly and cute, and she always received their bright smiles when she was in need of help.

She revealed that, at first, the team will focus on the performance on the forthcoming final night, and then will spend time visiting and experiencing to know better about Da Nang.

"Although I haven't been able to visit Da Nang much, from the high-rise hotel I can admire the beauty of the city at night, especially stunning and poetic bridges crossing the iconic Han River" Mrs. Lea Brun said.

As a new member of the French fireworks team coming to Da Nang for the first time, Mr. Mederick Steinmetz said that he really loved this city and local food.

He said “We were greeted as soon as we arrived at the airport. In addition to installing fireworks at the Han River Port shooting area, wherever we went, locals always said ‘hello’. This is a special thing because not all countries are so friendly to foreigners. Therefore, I want to have a chance to come back to Da Nang in a bid to experience more in the city”.

At this year's DIFF, all participating teams highly appreciated the organisational work of Da Nang and the consulting unit. They all received the best welcome and support when needed. These things have left many good impressions on them.

Mr. Romeo Dallavalle, a member of the Italian fireworks team, said that he and other team members have been to Da Nang many times, so they feel very familiar. However, every time they come to Da Nang, they witness many new things in the city. For instance, the city has more bridges, better infrastructure and more familiar and beautiful scenery.

“For us, local streets are safer than ever and residents are always friendly. I really want to live here like a real Vietnamese” he noted.

Meanwhile, leader of the Italian fireworks team Damiano Baraido felt very surprised when there was a lot of Italian food in Da Nang.

He said although he has been to many countries to perform fireworks, Da Nang and Viet Nam in general gave him a different impression. He considered Da Nang as a "second home". In Da Nang, he can comfortably meet and chat with each other like in Italy.

Through the DIFFs, Da Nang has become familiar with Mrs. Nadia Sharika Wong, Director of Global 2000 Fireworks Consulting Company, producer of DIFF 2023 and members of the Global 2000 team. Each time Nadia is back to Da Nang, she finds the city more beautiful and spacious.

She said the invitation of a variety of teams to compete in DIFF will contribute to widely promoting of DIFF in general and Da Nang in particular to international friends.
