The festival programme ‘Enjoy Da Nang Summer’ festival 2023 entitled ‘Wow Da Nang’ will take place in the East Sea Park from July 28 - August 1, promising new and exciting experience for both locals and visitors.

The information was released at a press conference held in the city on Tuesday by the municipal Department of Tourism.

Speaking at the press conference, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen remarked Da Nang tourism is gradually recovering and developing strongly with a series of events and festivals, contributing to creating a vibrant and fresh atmosphere in the city and attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to Da Nang in the first half of the year.

Included are the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the opening programme of the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season, the Quan The Am Festival, the Hai Chau Village Communal House Festival, the Hoa Bac Tourism Week, the IRONMAN 70.3, and a number of cultural events and festivals along both banks of the Han River.

During the 6-month period, Da Nang welcomed about 3.5 million visitors, reaching 89% of the year’s plan. 930,000 of them were international visitors whilst the remaining 2.58 million were domestic tourists. The city’s revenue from accommodation and travel services was estimated at VND6,231 billion, up 99% over the same period in 2022.

Additionally, many tourist attractions in the city have upgraded and invested in new products and services to lure more visitors. Notably, the return of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 made Da Nang bustling and vibrant in June.

Mrs. Yen said that the annual ‘Enjoy Da Nang Summer’ festival aimed to promote tourism and beach resort products, and bring locals and visitors many new and impressive activities, thereby contributing to positioning Da Nang as Asia's leading tourist destination.

The festival's activities will take place at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park and the coastal routes of Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa and Nguyen Tat Thanh, along with Dang and Tran Hung Dao streets along the both banks of the iconic Han River.

The festival will highlight a wide range of activities such as opening ceremony, Viet Nam International Food Festival, check-in space to experience and create artworks on sand, a beach festival, Da Nang international hot air balloon festival 2023, international open paragliding tournament, flashmob Zumba ‘Wow Da Nang’, tour programme ‘Enjoy Da Nang Summer’, and Blue Ocean Marine Environment protection.

There are also connecting activities such as street dance programme, Han river dance, street music programme, Bai Choi performance, a youth arts playground, folk dance, street dance, hip hop dance, street theater, B'festival food and beer festival 2023, a show themed ‘Land of the sun’, a beauty check-in contest ‘Chill with festival’.
