Co-hosted by the Museum of Da Nang and the Cam Le District People's Committee, the exhibition features about 100 documentary images of the Mau Ngo War in 1858. Among them, there are many newly added documentary photos from the French National Archives Center and those of restoration, embellishment, and education work at relics related to the city’s war against the French-Spanish coalition.
To give viewers an overview of the past 165 years of history, the exhibition is divided into three parts: the strategic location and defence policy of the Nguyen Dynasty; typical battles and retreats of the French from Da Nang; and heritages remains with time.
The event provides the good opportunity for visitors, especially the younger generation, to review the heroic past of our ancestors as well as express gratitude and honour the value of heritages related to the starting of Da Nang’s resistance war against the French-Spanish coalition (1858-1860).
The exhibition runs until September 6.
