Co-organised by the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of South Korea in the city, the festival is a meaningful cultural and foreign affairs event, marking the journey of more than 30 years of establishing the Viet Nam - South Korea diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2023).
This year's festival will feature a wide range of outstanding activities, including parades, performances of traditional musical instruments by art troupes from South Korea, a contest to make Vietnamese - Korean dishes, flashmob performances, Taekwondo demonstration by the Seung Ri Taekwondo Club, and a Taekwondo experience programme for tourists.
Additionally, there will be 60 booths introducing information, culture, products, cuisine, and Vietnamese and South Korean folk games.
During the festival, the finale of the Viet Nam-South Korea Talent Contest will be held with more than 20 eye-catching performances carefully selected by the organisers.
Besides, there will be a volunteer exchange programme of South Korean artists at the Children’s Village of Hope such as performances of singing, dancing and musical instruments, traditional South Korean dance lessons, and gift giving for children.
Notably, the campus of the festival will be decorated more grandly than last year’s with a Vietnamese-style lantern street and a miniature landscape of Gyeongbok Palace - the largest palace in South Korea. This will meet the check-in and entertainment needs of residents and tourists during the festival season.
The Viet Nam - South Korea Festival is held annually to enhance understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries in general, and deepen the friendly relationship between Da Nang and South Korean localities and partners.
