60 pupils participate in knowledge contest about homeland's sea and islands
Around 60 pupils from junior high schools of Huynh Thuc Khang, Le Thi Hong Gam, Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Dieu and Do Dang Tuyen in Da Nang’s Thanh Khe District took part in a knowledge competition entitled ‘I Love My Homeland’s Sea and Islands’ on Saturday morning.

The event was co-organised by the High Command of the Viet Nam Coast Guard Region 2 and the Da Nang Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Commission.
Accordingly, contestants answered questions related to knowledge about Viet Nam's seas and islands, the 2012 Law of the Sea of Viet Nam, the Law on the Viet Nam Coast Guard, and duties, functions, traditions of the Viet Nam Coast Guard.
In the end, one First, one Second, one Third and one Consolation prizes were given to outstanding contestants.
In addition, one First, two Second, three Third, 14 consolation and 5 collective prizes were presented to children with excellent achievements in the drawing contest with the theme "Sea, Islands, Fatherland and Coast Guard soldiers".
On the occasion, the organisers awarded 50 scholarships, each worth VND1 million, and 20 bicycles, to local pupils in difficult circumstances.
