Impressive night of British musicals in Da Nang

A programme of British musicals themed "West End Musicals" took place at the Da Nang-based Trung Vuong Theatre on Monday evening.

The event was co-organised by the British Embassy in Ha Noi and the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

In his remarks at the programme, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh said that the Viet Nam - UK strategic partnership witnessed progresses in many areas in recent years.

Every year, the city welcomes many diplomatic delegations of British authorities and businesses, whilst the municipal officials pay working trips to the UK. The UK is one of the city's most important cooperation partners in the field of university training.

Vice Chairman Minh noted that the British musical event was one of the highlights of the Viet Nam - UK cultural exchange activities, giving the audience wonderful experience about UK culture. This will contribute to further tightening the friendly and cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and the UK.

Inspired by the iconic stages of London's West End, the night of British musicals brought unique performances with the participation of artistes from Impact Theater Saigon - the group of talented young people having a strong passion for music and musicals.

The performances on the music night were a wonderful combination of storytelling, famous works and theater arts. The audience were immersed themselves in the magical musicals "Cabaret", "Seasons of Love" and "I feel pretty".

The event aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam-the UK diplomatic ties (1973-2023); as well as helped the public in Da Nang gain more knowledge about culture and arts, especially the timeless charm of British musicals.
