65 donated artifacts on display until Dec.5

Sixty-five valuable artifacts that the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts has collected from donors from both home and abroad since the start of this year are being displayed until December 5.

These are 20 typical folk paintings made by Doctor and researcher Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa; 5 lacquer paintings and 15 typical folk lacquer paintings by distinguished artisan Truong Quan Tinh.

In addition, on display at the event are two hand-drawn comic books donated by Vietnamese-Belgian Nguyen Vinh Khoa, 12 comics made by artist Vinh Khoa but donated by Mr. Thierry Demaseure from Belgium, an artwork themed ‘Boats on the Han River Wharf’ by Vietnamese American artist Ho Mong Nha Uyen, five typical graphic works by the Boston Graphics Association in the USA, and five typical artworks in artist Le Ba Dang’s collection.

In 2023, the museum received 474 artworks and artifacts donated by collectors, artists, and artisans at both home and abroad. Included are 67 glass paintings and Southern folk lacquer paintings by Doctor and researcher Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, 38 graphic works by a group of the Boston artists in the USA, and a collection of 253 artifacts by artist Le Ba Dang. This brings the total of artifacts displayed at the museum to 2,533.

Artifacts donated on this occasion have been treasured by artists, collectors and artisans over the years. They decided to donate them to the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, expressing their earnest desire to make contributions to the museum's rich sources of materials and artifacts through such outstanding donations.

This is a meaningful action, contributing to spreading the movement of donating objects, as well as calling for the community to join hands in the cause of preserving and preserving the cultural heritage of the country.
