2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival to be slated for July, 2024
Following the success of the 1st Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF I, 2023), the 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF II), with the theme ‘Asian Bridges’ will take place from July 2 to 6, 2024 in Da Nang.

According to the event’s Organising Committee, DANAFF II still maintains the programme framework of a professional film festival with Opening-Closing-Awards ceremonies broadcast live on Viet Nam Television Station (VTV) and relayed by Da Nang TV News and other television stations across Viet Nam.
As planned, DANAFF II will feature Asian and Vietnamese film competition programmes with valuable prizes; Today’s Vietnamese Cinema programme with carefully-selected, newly-produced Vietnamese films; the Da Nang Selected Film Programme; Programme focusing on Vietnamese Cinema; a programme introducing movies made by famous international guests; international conferences and seminars; exchanges between artists with the audience; a workshop ‘Nurturing talent’; visiting monuments, scenic spots and filming locations.
In particular, for the first time in Viet Nam, DANAFF II will award the Cinema Achievement Award to an excellent filmmaker who has made many contributions to cinema. This award will be maintained annually.
On December 19, the DANAFF II’s Organising Committee started receiving registrations for all filmmakers and studios submitting films to this festival.
The Asian Film Category will highlight feature-length films (over 70 minutes) from the Asia-Pacific region.
The film must be be produced from February 2023 to March 2024. The last registration deadline is set on March 15, 2024.
Vietnamese Film Category will be open for Vietnamese feature films, produced from February 2023 to April 2024. Last registration deadline is slated on April 30, 2024.
The Vietnamese Cinema Today category will introduce Vietnamese films with a feature length of over 70 minutes, produced from January 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024. The last registration deadline will be April 30, 2024.
The Organising Committee will set up a Selection Council to decide on films in the categories of Film Contest and Vietnamese Cinema Today.
DANAFF II has 3 jury panels: Asian Film Jury, Viet Nam Film Jury and the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) Jury. Each jury includes famous Vietnamese and international experts, stars and filmmakers.
Delegates and guests attending DANAFF II are the leaders of national and municipal/ provincial authorities; famous Vietnamese and international film actors; Asian and international stars and film experts; Vietnamese filmmakers and artists; filmmakers whose works participated in the festival.
DANAFF II will be directed by the Da Nang People's Committee and implemend by the Viet Nam Film Development Association (VFDA), in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports and other relevant local agencies, the UNI Media company, Vietnamese and international organisations.
NETPAC continues to be one of the foreign partners participating in organising DANAFF II.
The DANAFF II Organising Committee is receiving film registrations until March 15, 2024 for Asian films and until April 30, 2024 for Vietnamese films.
Individuals and organisations can submit films via email: officevfda@gmail.com or to the headquarters of the VFDA, Building A – Viet Nam National Institute of Culture and Arts, 32 Hao Nam, Dong Da District, Ha Noi.
