I practice volleyball every day to improve my professional level".
Recently, many volleyball clubs have been established in the city with a constantly increasing number of members.
Among them, the volleyball club of the Da Nang University of Architecture has nearly 50 members who practice and compete regularly.
According to Mr. Bui Van Long, Deputy Secretary of the university’s Youth Union organisation, aside from such popular sports as football, badminton and martial arts, volleyball attracts a large number of students.
In addition to the volleyball teams of classes and faculties, the university has established its own volleyball team to compete in tournaments organised by units and localities.
Currently, most schools and localities in the city have volleyball courts equipped with modern equipment. This not only creates conditions for all level sectors, localities and units to organise tournaments for people of all ages, but also helps people have conditions to meet, practice and satisfy their passion for volleyball.
Since the beginning of the year, volleyball tournaments have been successfully organised in the city. Included are the Da Nang Department of Education and Training-organised volleyball tournament for students in the 2022-2023 school year; and the 2023 Da Nang Youth Volleyball Tournament hosted by the Viet Nam Youth Federation, the Da Nang Students’ Association and the Da Nang Community Volleyball Club.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Truong, Chairman of the Da Nang Community Volleyball Club, the purpose of volleyball tournaments is to create opportunities for players to interact and develop professionally.
He, however, stressed the need for the city to increase the number and quality of tournaments in the coming time.
Aside from movement volleyball tournaments, the city has hosted professional volleyball tournaments.
