Forty professional and talented chefs from hotels, supermarkets and restaurants across Da Nang competed in the Da Nang Chef Talents Competition 2023 held at the Furama International Convention Palace on Tuesday.

With the main ingredient of the US-imported chicken, the contestants prepare dishes featuring the combination of Western and local cuisine

The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Confederation of Labour, the Da Nang Hotel Association, the USA Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC), the city’s Culinary Culture Association and the Furama Resort Da Nang.

The chefs from 20 competing teams prepared dishes under the theme "Da Nang dishes integrate into the world".

The dishes were evaluated for compliance with international standards, with a creative combination of the US-imported chicken and local flavours.

During the event, the Da Nang Hotels Solutions 2023 programme featured nearly 30 booths introducing products being supplied to the Da Nang hotel industry such as food, drinks, kitchen appliances and technological items.

Aside from the cooking competition, there were a number of exciting side events, including a seminar entitled ‘Sustainable development in the hotel industry: Understand what in-app purchases are and how they work’; a conference of the Executive Committee of the Da Nang Hotel Association; a workshop on the new era of hotel marketing; workshops about information technology and housekeeping careers.

Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association Nguyen Duc Quynh remarked that this was the second time that the Da Nang Chef Talents Competition and the Da Nang Hotels Solutions 2023 have been held in Da Nang.

This year's events drew much attention of many companions, sponsors, hotels and resorts, thereby showing a strong recovery and a bright future for the local tourism industry.

The event organisers hoped that these will be a useful playground for those working in the kitchen industry to show off their talents and introduce Da Nang delicacies to international guests.
