The Han River port site will be the main location of the fireworks displays with a main stage and viewers' stands along sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street opposite the port.
DIFF 2024 is expected to have 8 participating teams, including 7 international teams from France, Italy, the USA, Germany, Poland, China and Finland and the Da Nang-Viet Nam team. Thus, the festival will see the participation of three new teams: the USA, Germany, and China.
The participating teams will compete in five competition nights, including 4 qualifying nights and a final night.
The opening night is scheduled to take place on June 8, whilst the final night is slated to be held on July 13.
Each team will have 20 minutes to show off their performance based on each night's theme as agreed upon by the organisers. The general theme of DIFF 2024 is in the process of selection, but aims for the message of a peaceful, fair, harmonious and humane society.
It is known that the return of DIFF 2023 created a boost for the post-pandemic recovery of Da Nang tourism, with growth numbers exceeding expectations.
The first Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC) was held in 2008. In 2017, the competition was changed to the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) with the socialized budget together with the companionship of Sun Group. During that journey, DIFF has become a highlight event turning Da Nang into the centre of festivals every summer.
