Specifically, the Board will increase the deployment of on-duty functional forces throughout the Tet holiday break, deploy buoys in safe bathing areas, install warnings in dangerous areas with rip currents and bad weather, install warning signs in areas where there are no rescue forces on duty, coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure security, order and environmental sanitation at the beach and on the Son Tra Peninsula.
With regard to the environment, the Board organised a clean-up programme to clean 2 coastal routes in preparation for Tet with the theme ‘Da Nang Beach says no to plastic waste’ on on Friday, January 26 and will deploy the Son Tra Clean up programme under the theme ‘Running to pick up’ on Saturday, January 27, combining sports training and environmental protection.
To renew the beach area, the Board will organise Tet check-in model clusters decorated with models of baskets, surfboards, and fresh flowers at Bien Dong (East Sea) Park, along Nguyen Van Thoai seaside street, My An nighttime beach site and other coastal areas.
Also, there will be other interesting activities, including the decoration of guard stations, the installation of check-in models simulating images of red-shanked douc langurs combined with familiar images of traditional Vietnamese Tet holidays in a funny and lovely style at reststops on the Son Tra Peninsula.
Locals and visitors will have the chance to compete in such competitions as the 2024 Open Surfing Tournament on January 27 and 28, and enjoy the highly-inviting vibes of the programme ‘Spring of love-Celebrate the Spring 2024’ at the My An Beach at the Nguyen Van Thoai - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection area. This event will feature activities recreating old Tet scenes and experiential activities such as wrapping and cooking ‘banh chung’, ‘banh tet’, making traditional coconut, ginger jam, sesame cakes introducing the traditional culinary culture of Vietnamese Tet, and experiencing the art of calligraphy with red couplets and diagrams and folk games.
