Over recent days, the March 29 Square in Da Nang has attracted a large number of the city residents and tourists to have fun and watch a night-time artistic musical water fountain show. It is hoped that the site will become a destination not only for local people, but also domestic and foreign tourists.

Every night around 8:00 p.m., the March 29 Square is crowded with adults, children, and teenagers. While waiting for the musical water fountain show, they usually walk around and take photos. Holding their two small children in their hands, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh and her husband from An Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District occasionally looked at the clock to wait for the show.

“I heard from some people in the neighborhood that the show was beautiful, and then saw it on the media, so I arranged a time to take my two children to watch it. This is a meaningful project, serving the spiritual life of the city's people. Furthermore, the project will help the city attract more tourists.”, said Ms. Kim Thanh.

When the water sprayed up along with the music, many people quickly use their phones to record and capture beautiful moments. Two young people, Tran Mai Phuong and Le Thanh Tam, both now working in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District came here for the third time to see water music.

“The last two times we arrived earlier or later, so this time we decided to spend the whole evening here waiting, not in vain coming down from Hoa Khanh. I saw a spacious, modern square with a lively musical water fountain show. I will take my friends and relatives from other localities to admire it”., Mai Phuong expressed.

According to the Da Nang Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project to upgrade the Da Nang Peace Monument and renovate and expand the March 29 Square with a total investment of more than VND212 billion from the city budget and private investment.

The project comprises of 2 phases and 3 subdivisions. In 2023, the municipal People's Committee inaugurated Phase 1 of upgrading and embellishing the Da Nang Peace Monument. Currently, construction units are gearing up completing Phase 2 and subdivisions 2 and 3.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An said that the agency and related agencies will come up with ideas for the organisation of more artistic activities to serve both local residents and tourists. "Once the square is put into operation, the highlight is the new artistic water spray system, becoming a unique cultural product in the city. Therefore, sideline programmes will be held in a bid to maximize the square's functions", said Ms An.

According to Mr. Le Van Tuyet, the Deputy Director of the Investment Project Management Board for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works in Da Nang, the artistic water spray system is in the process of testing and has reasonable adjustments. The show will be perfected with the fixed schedule to serve the general public.
