Speaking at the ceremony, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong said that the Quan The Am Festival was one of the highlight cultural events - festivals in Da Nang. Along with the Marble Mountains Tourist Area recognized as a special national-level relic site, and ‘ma nhai’ (Inscriptions), the Quan The Am Festival is the pride of the people of Ngu Hanh Son District in particular and the city in general.

Aside from honouring local cultural and historical values, expressing the national spirit and the harmony between Buddhism and the nation, the festival was also considered as a place to meet, exchange and show a particularly deep friendship and tradition of solidarity between Vietnamese Buddhism and countries with similar Buddhist cultures, he added.

Vice Chairman Cuong wished to receive the consensus and joint efforts of Buddhist monks, monks and followers, and all people and tourists to create a solemn and cultural festival space.

At the ceremony, delegates released balloons, and, at the same time, performed some traditional rituals to express the message of love, and great devotion to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, in order to pray for peace, safety, happiness and prosperity throughout the year.

The costume ceremony of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva was organised in parallel with the ceremony to process the statue of the Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva which was the most-anticipated during the festival. The costume ceremony was meant to imply that the Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva always accompanied sentient beings anytime, anywhere.
