The An Khe Village Communal House Festival and Folk Culture and Sports Day 2024 officially kicked off in An Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang on Saturday.

This year’s 2-day festival features many solemn rituals and exciting traditional festive activities.

Specifically, a number of solemn rituals to honour ancestors and to pray for peace, happiness and prosperity throughout the year are held.

Meanwhile, there are many cultural and sports activities, such as ‘bai choi’ and calligraphy performances, and competitions of five-fruit tray decoration, blindfolded duck catching, flashmob dance, tug of war and sack jumping…

Within the framework of the festival, the An Khe Ward People's Committee also organises the Book and Reading Culture Day, an agricultural market, displays of products made by female startups, and a job placement consulting and digital transformation guidance day for local residents.

On the occasion, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of An Khe Ward gave funds, worth VND50 million each, to support 2 poor social policy households to build and repair their houses, and presented gifts and means of livelihood to people in difficult circumstances in the locality.
