Within only nearly a month left until the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024, the preparatory works have been underway, ready for the city's big cultural event.

Return of many talented fireworks teams

DIFF 2024, themed "Made in Unity - Global Connection - Radiant five continents", will take place from June 8 - July 13.

This year’s festival is expected to have 8 participating teams, including 7 international pyrotechnic teams from France, Italy, the USA, Germany, Poland, China and Finland, and the Da Nang-Viet Nam team.

Winning the Creativity Award at DIFF 2023, the Surex Firma Rodzinna Team from Poland promises to bring the audience an emotional performance that is not simply a fireworks display but also a true work of arts.

As the champion of DIFF 2023, the Arteventia fireworks team from France wants to bring many interesting things at the performance night, creating something new and unique for viewers.

Meanwhile, the fireworks team Joho Pyro Professional Fireworks AB in Finland, which won the Audience Favorite Award at DIFF 2023, is a formidable opponent in this year's festival season. They plan to have new strategies to conquer audiences along both sides of the Han River.

Another strong opponent at DIFF 2024 is the Martarello SRL company from Italy. The return of the fireworks team, which had many years of experience in participating in DIFFs and won high rankings, will contribute to increasing the attraction among the participating teams.

The most anticipated in this year's DIFF season is the participation of three rookies from China, Germany and Italy.

In particular, Team Pyrogenie from Germany won the first prize at the Masters de Feu Festival, Paris, France; the San Fermin International Fireworks Competition in Pamplona Spain, both in 2023.

Team Rozzi fireworks team from the US has produced and executed over 300 pyrotechnic displays around the world, and won the second prize at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition, Montreal Canada in 2023.

Team Liuyang Jingduan New-art Display Co., Ltd from China is an unknown at DIFF 2024 because Jingduan Technology is a famous fireworks display equipment manufacturer in China, their equipment is used by a lot of professional fireworks display companies in the world such as the USA, Thailand, Dubai etc.

According to a representative from Sun Group, DIFF 2024 promises to bring the audience many surprises. In particular, the opening ceremony of this year’s festival is expected to have a performance of extreme sports Jetski and Flyboard combined with fireworks display, which will be the highlight that makes DIFF 2024 completely different from previous seasons.

Promoting communication to attract guests

Currently, the preparatory works for DIFF are underway.

Mr. Ha Vy, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, said that his unit has advised the People's Committee to issue a decision to complete the number of members for Da Nang - Viet Nam fireworks team, as well as has composed the musical script and completed the performance's background music. The home team is programming a performance.

To meet the needs of residents and tourists, the size of the grandstands has increased to 10,174 seats/night.

DIFF 2024 is expected to have 40 accompanying activities, a rise of 12 compared to 2023. The most highlights will include a jetski-flyboard-art-performance, DIFF2024 quiz competition, a random dance Kpop programme, a playground for children in the summer, a Water Fest, and a programme to chill with the youth.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the department has issued an information document and requested tourism service establishments citywide to widely deploy communication and promotion activities about DIFF 2024, especially at airports and railway stations.

Currently, the number of guests booking rooms in the riverside area is about 50% compared to the same period last year.
