Da Nang international mass yoga performance slated for June 16
During a recent reception for Ph.D Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre under the Indian Embassy in Viet Nam on the occasion of her working visit to Da Nang, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen mentioned the proposed plan for organising the Da Nang International Mass Yoga Performance 2024 programme, which is slated to take place on June 16.

At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Tuyen briefed her guests on general information about Da Nang, and its advantages and potential as well. Currently, Da Nang has 5 Indian-invested projects, with a total investment of nearly US$15 million. Recently, the city opened direct flights to the Indian cities of New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, contributing to promoting cooperation in tourism and trade development between the two sides.
At the same time, Vice Chairwoman Tuyen introduced the position and role of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organsations and the Da Nang chapter of Viet Nam - India Friendship Association in the city's people-to-people foreign affairs work, and diplomacy towards India in particular.
Along with the upcoming Da Nang International Mass Yoga Performance 2024 programme, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organsations and the Da Nang chapter of Viet Nam - India Friendship Association will jointly organise a discussion in Da Nang about the value of yoga in Viet Nam - India relation
iin particular, she asked for support from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre for the organisation of Viet Nam-India cultural exchange activities for the rest of 2024 in Da Nang, and pay more attention to promoting the granting of more scholarships under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme operated by the Indian government for students studying at universities and civil servants in Da Nang.
Ph.D Monica Sharma, the Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre highly appreciated the success of the Da Nang International Mass Yoga Performance 2023 programme as well expressed her impression about the modernity and dynamism of Da Nang, and its clean, beautiful, safe and friendly living environment as well.
Ph.D Monica Sharma hoped that the two sides would jointly organise more cultural exchange activities so that the people of the two countries have the opportunity to learn about customs, traditions, and cultural beauty of each other. People-to-people exchange activities will contribute to preserving and cultivating the traditional friendly relationship between India and Viet Nam.
