Da Nang wins 8 gold medals at the National Rowing and Canoeing Championship 2024
The National Rowing and Canoeing Championship 2024 concluded at the Dong Nghe Lake in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang on Sunday.

The tournament attracted more than 440 male and female athletes from 40 teams representing provinces and cities nationwide, competing in categories of rowing and canoeing.
In the rowing category, athletes competed in 20 events for men and women in single scull, double scull, and quad scull at a distance of 2,000m.
The canoeing category had 40 canoe and kayak events for men and women in single scull, double scull, and quad scull with distances of 200m, 500m and1,000m.
After more than a week of competitions, in the canoeing category, Vinh Phuc Province won the first prize with 8 gold and a silver medals, followed by Hai Phong (8 gold medals), Ho Chi Minh City (6 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals), Da Nang (5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals), and Hai Duong (3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals).
In the rowing category, the first prize went to Ho Chi Minh City (4 gold and 4 silver medals). The city was followed by Hai Duong (4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals), Ha Tinh (4 gold and 2 silver medals), Da Nang (3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals), and Thai Binh (3 gold and 3 bronze medals).
The annual championship aimed to create conditions for athletes to interact, gain experience, and improve their expertise towards international tournaments; as well as evaluate the training and coaching work of units throughout the country.
