Thanks to favourable conditions and proper investment, beach football has become a strong sport, helping Da Nang continuously reap success in national sporting tournaments.

Beach football requires agility and precision because the ball on the sand is difficult to control, and moving on the sand is more difficult than other forms of competition fields.

The beach football pitch is much smaller than a regular football field. Each match is divided into 3 halves, each lasting 12 minutes.

Over the past years, the beach football movement has maintained stable development in the city. Recently, the local team have crowned the champion at the 2024 National Beach Football Championship held in Binh Dinh Province after excellently beating such strong rivals as Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Binh Duong. This is the 5^th time that Team Da Nang have won the championship since the first tournament was held in 2009.

The abovementioned achievements are a great spiritual encouragement and the basis for Da Nang to pour more investment into this kind of sports.

The city's beach soccer team currently has 12 players who have won many achievements at national championships, including Tran Ngoc Bao, Tran Kim Trung and Nguyen Huu An.

Director of the city’s Sports and Physical Training Centre Tran Cong Tu said that the excellent achievements of the local beach football team help the city's sports sector affirm its position at national championships.

To promote the sustainable development of beach football movement, tournaments at all levels are regularly organised across the city.

In particular, since 2013, beach football has been included in the list of the competition sports at Son Tra Ditsrict-level Sports Festival. Similarly, the Ngu Hanh Son District regularly coordinates with units and localities to organise a beach football tournament in order to create a useful playground for athletes to exchange, compete, and learn from experience.

Additionally, the municipal-level beach football championship is held every summer, aiming to select the best players for national championships.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao acknowledged that beach soccer has developed strongly thanks to the city's long, wide coastline.

In order to further the development of beach football in particular and beach sports in general, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports proposed the city leader to allocate part of the Son Thuy Beach in Ngu Hanh Son District to establish a beach sports club.

Once operational, the club will meet all conditions for athletes to participate in training, playing, entertaining, and spreading the movement of physical training and sports among the public, thereby, contributing to promoting tourism activities and beach services in the city.
