Organised by the Da Nang Basketball Association, the tournament includes three events of women, men A, and men B.

In particular, the men's B event starts from August 16 with the participation of 8 teams: Gecko Dunk Jr, Gecko Dunk, UBC, Air Dragons, Lao Tuong Da Nang, Jumpshot Hustle, Turtle Warriors and Panthers.

These teams are divided into two round-robin groups, with the four teams with the best records to enter the semi-finals and finals.

The sporting event is an opportunity for young basketball teams and players to hone their skills, increase their personal value, and explore their own limits. Also, it contributes to improving the overall quality and competitiveness of the basketball community.

After the success of previous seasons, this year’s participating teams have made careful preparations towards the best results. Among them, Lao Tuong Da Nang receive a lot of attention. After reaping success from major tournaments, the local basketball team set a goal of conquering the highest position at this tournament.

This year's squad has a special combination of many generations of players, creating a team that is diverse and rich in experience as well as strength.

The participation of the local team is not only an affirmation of the strength and tradition of Da Nang basketball, but also an important milestone in its development journey.

Together with Lao Tuong Da Nang, Gecko Dunk promises to bring exciting matches based on youth. The team with 12 players is led by coach Dang Quang Vinh - former player of the Danang Dragon basketball team. With speed, technique and dedication, Gecko Dunk is one of the brightest candidates for the champion.

Nguyen Quoc Long, a member of the Gecko Dunk basketball team, said this year’s tournament saw the participation of many strong basketball teams in Da Nang, so the competition is very high. His team will maintain focus and make good use of opportunities to gradually reach the set goal.

Aside from the two abovementioned teams, Air Dragons is one of the most popular and noticed teams in recent tournaments. With a core of young players, Air Dragons demonstrates a technical, creative style of play, combining tradition and innovation. Before competing in the tournament, the team gained good results at the Da Nang Basketball Championship 2024.

According to Mr. Le Ngoc Tai, a member of the Da Nang Basketball Association and a representative of the organisers, the tournament not only focuses on professional factors but also carries the mission of spreading passion for basketball by providing free admission for spectators. The tournament brings interesting experiences to athletes and cheering fans.

He added that Da Nang has full facilities and is a suitable location to organize large-scale basketball tournaments.

In recent years, the basketball movement in Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general has undergone strong changes. To meet the needs of athletes, many basketball training centres have been opened citywide.

“Through this tournament, the organising board wants to diversify the playing ground for athletes, and encourage schools and clubs to participate in basketball competitions in the city. At the same time, the sporting event helps discover and foster talents for the Da Nang basketball team, thereby gradually making the tournament more professional, expanding its scale, and improving its quality over time," Mr. Tai emphasised.
