Da Nang will host the 2024 National Handball Championship from September 11 - 16, according to the Viet Nam Handball Federation.

The tournament will have the participation of more than 230 athletes from 6 men's and women's teams from provinces and cities with strong handball movements, namely Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Binh Dinh and Da Nang.

The teams are divided into groups, competing in a round-robin to select the first and second teams of each group for the semi-finals and finals.

Handball is an attractive, powerful and highly competitive sport, suitable for the agility and dexterity of Vietnamese people.

The participating athletes are selected from localities and units with strong handball movements, promising to bring the audience exciting matches.

The National Handball Championship is held annually, aimed at expanding and improving the quality of the handball training movement nationwide, and at the same time selecting athletes for the national team to compete in international competitions.

The tournament also contributes to gradually improving the organisation and management of the staff in a professional way. Before the National Handball Championship, Da Nang had successfully organised the National Youth Handball Championship many times at the Tien Son Sports Arena. The city's infrastructure conditions ensure the success of the tournament.
