This tournament is held regularly and is included in the plan to develop the district's sports and physical training movement.

Athlete Nguyen Khanh Hoang, residing in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, shared "I have been learning to swim for nearly 10 years and regularly participate in tournaments. In particular, the Thanh Khe District Open Swimming Tournament for Age Groups is one of the major tournaments. The tournament is a good opportunity for athletes to improve their professional skills and maintain regular training for the sake of the best results".

According to Director of Thanh Khe District Culture and Sports Centre Vuong Tuan Kiet, since early 2024, many sports festivals, and swimming, badminton, athletics, and basketball tournaments, have been organised by residential areas, wards, associations and organisations, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life.

These tournaments are not only useful playgrounds for athletes to exchange, learn, and share experiences, but also affirm the growth of the mass physical training and sports movements.

From now until the end of the year, the district plans to organise many tournaments to diversify playgrounds for athletes.

Along with Thanh Khe District, Cam Le District regularly organises sports tournaments. Most recently, the district-level U14 men's football tournament has been successfully held in the locality.

This year’s tournament sees the participation of 6 teams representing wards in the district including Hoa Tho Dong, Hoa An, Khue Trung, Hoa Tho Tay, Hoa Xuan and Hoa Phat.

Athlete Tran Van Son residing in Khue Trung Ward said "I am very happy to compete in the tournament. Besides satisfying my passion for sports, the tournament is an opportunity for me to exchange and connect with friends. Hopefully, the meaningful playground will be maintained so that I have the opportunity to improve my professional skills regularly".

Every year, Hoa Vang District maintains tournaments about Chinese chess, football, badminton, table tennis, billiards, shuttlecock kicking, athletics, and running for students, workers, civil servants and people.

As planned, from August 14 - 29, the district-level football tournament will take place with the participation of football teams from 11 communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Chau, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Phong, Hoa Phu, Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Son and Hoa Tien.

The teams will be divided into 3 groups, competing in a round-robin to select the best teams to enter the knockout round.

This year’s tournament promises to be attractive and dramatic as the participating teams have high investment and determination. In particular, Hoa Chau Commune strives to defend the championship.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao said that thanks to favourable physical conditions, tournaments and sports festivals are regularly organised by localities, thereby contributing to promoting the development of physical training and sports movement in the city and creating a habit of regular exercise for people.

In the coming time, the city will encourage localities to promote the organisation of tournaments, as well as host more attractive sports playgrounds to meet the needs of local people.
